Background
The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston
moves forward to complete their plans for Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral first developed over two decades ago.
Starting in 2000, during a campaign to raise funds for a new Co-Cathedral, Arch-
bishop Fiorenza expressed his intention to replace the old Sacred Heart parish church to make way
for new parking. Which was needed in the ever so expanding city of Houston.
Located in downtown Houston, this plaza will serve church-goers with an additional 144 parking spaces, alongside a public gathering space which can accommodate up to 200 individuals.
